“2 Guns” Film Review.

2 Guns is an action comedy crime starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg about a DEA agent and naval intelligence officer finding themselves on the run after a botched attempt to infiltrate a drug cartel. Not only are their characters Robert ‘Bobby’ Trench and Michael ‘Stig’ Stigman both undercover agents, but neither of them knew of the other’s identity. What’s worse is that someone is setting them up that knows who they both are.

Although I wouldn’t say that I loved this film, the on-screen chemistry between Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg is undeniable, and I’m really surprised about this because these two talented actors have never actually worked together before. Regardless of what I think of the storyline, their on-screen chemistry is fantastic and seems to come so naturally like they’ve been acting together all their lives.

The action in this film is decent, the crime in the film is evident but I didn’t personally find this film funny, even though it was billed as a comedy. The company I went with to see this film did laugh at many scenes and enjoyed the movie more than me, so maybe 2 Guns is just not my sense of humour?

Regardless of 2 Guns being my sense of humour or not, I found the storyline had too many plot holes and unanswered questions at the end of the film. It wasn’t bad, but the fact I forgot to write up this review after viewing it says a lot.
