Hot off the heels of ‘Woman’s World’ comes Katy Perry’s newest single ‘Lifetimes’ from her upcoming album ‘143’.
Sun-kissed and stunning while living her best life in Ibiza, Spain, we watch as Katy Perry arrives alone via boat, travels by motorbike and frolics from the sea to the club. Accompanied by friend and DJ, Mia Moretti, the pair enjoy each other’s company whether it be calmly floating on a boat on the ocean, being served seafood whilst in transit on the water, eating ice-cream after dark, or partying it up in the club. Honestly, this seems like the perfect day out with your bestie.
The cherry on top is the sense of humour at the end of the music video, as well the visuals of Katy throw pizza to Spanish fans dancing in club, something that we haven’t seen her cheekily do since her Prismatic World Tour, a highlight for many.
Much like its music video, ‘Lifetimes’ is catchy, flashy, fast, fun and a healthy mix of mischief and joy. Katy’s vocals in this dance track sound like a natural marriage, making you want to get up on your feet and dance along to it while smiling with glee. Its lyrics, “I love you for-, I love you for life, lifetimes” are flirtatious, infectious and endearing. Katy has proven she can sing in any genre and honestly, this is a song that’s hard not to love.
Katy Perry’s seventh studio album ‘143’ will be released worldwide on September 20th. She will then come here to Melbourne, Australia to perform at the 2024 AFL Grand Final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Saturday the 28th of September. While for Katy Perry fans, obtaining tickets to the final will be impossible as they’re usually reserved for football members and game sponsors, we’re hoping that there will be other opportunities for KatyCats to see their queen while she’s in town.
In the interim, ‘Lifetimes’ is now available digitally. Although there’s currently no physical copy of the single, we’re hoping for a 7-inch vinyl to come into existence. We’ll see.
