Pixar In Concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra – Live Review

What a wonderful night soaking up storytelling through the power of music! I cannot get over how amazing Pixar In Concert was with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra performed music from Toy Story 1, 2 and 3, A Bug’s Life, Monster’s Inc, Cars 1 and 2, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Wall-E, UP, Brave, Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur and surprised everyone with a wonderful encore of “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” from Toy Story.

It was the most wonderful experience and I found myself bawling during UP, Monster’s Inc, Ratatouille, Brave, Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur which is practically half the concert. My partner and I were both already crying during the “UP” segment with our faces shining from the tears, and I couldn’t believe I was sobbing already at interval. Even though we weren’t watching the entirety of the films, the music was enough to ignite our emotions from originally viewing the movies.

I’m so happy I got to attend and share this experience with great company who love Pixar just as much as I do. Some say animation is only for children, but you are honestly never too old for the things you love. Attending this concert has inspired me to re-watch all the Pixar films again. And I can’t wait for the next Pixar movie to come out.

Thank-you Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for bringing the concert to Australia and for such a wonderful show. I will cherish this experience, always.

Pixar In Concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is playing at the Arts Centre Melbourne on the 7th and 8th of April, 2017.
