VENUE UPGRADE ANNOUNCED FOR MASAYOSHI TAKANAKA’S SUPER TAKANAKA WORLD LIVE 2026 DUE TO PHENOMENAL DEMAND
Live Nation has announced a venue upgrade in Melbourne for City Pop Waves: SUPER TAKANAKA WORLD LIVE 2026, with Masayoshi Takanaka’s previously scheduled show moving to the Forum Melbourne due to overwhelming demand.
Both the Melbourne performances on Sunday April 26 and Monday April 27 will now take place at the iconic Forum, offering fans increased capacity and improved access to one of Japan’s most influential guitarists. All existing ticketholders will have their tickets transferred to the new venue, with no action required.
This upgrade follows a wave of demand across Australia and New Zealand, as Takanaka brings his vibrant, surf-inspired fusion sound to local audiences. SUPER TAKANAKA WORLD LIVE 2026 marks a rare opportunity to see the pioneering guitarist in a series of intimate yet powerful performances across both countries.
Among the tour’s most anticipated highlights is the return of Takanaka’s famed surfboard guitar; a full-size instrument crafted from a real surfboard, performed with only a handful of times before being displayed for over a decade. Fully restored for this tour, the legendary guitar will once again appear on stage, offering fans a chance to witness a revived piece of musical history.
Tickets for the upgraded Melbourne show at Forum Melbourne will go on sale Thursday December 12 at 2pm local.
