Vũ: 2025 Museum of Regrets Tour, Forum Melbourne, Melbourne, November 5th 2025 – Live Review

Born Hoàng Thái Vũ, Vũ is a renown Vietnamese singer and songwriter, opened the doors to his 2025 The Museum of Regrets Tour, titled after his 2024 album ‘The Museum of Regrets’, inviting everyone to feel in music what normal words could not say.

MC-ing the evening of heartfelt emotion was comedian Diana Nguyen. With her warmth and laughter, she welcomed the Melbourne crowd with her signature comedic flair. Speaking from the lens of a true Australian-born Vietnamese, her charm and relatability filled the venue with laughter and connection. It may not have been fluent, but it was understandable. Diana effortlessly built anticipation, turning the room into a space ready for an unforgettable night.

An ambience of lo-fi beats drifted through the Forum Melbourne venue, wrapping the crowd in deep longing. Each note carried whispers of forgotten loves, tender regrets and memories that refuse to fade. At a standstill of emotions captured as art, Vũ showcased the beauty in sadness that could only be accepted after deep reflection. Like art that’s meant to be framed, Vũ’s album showcased melodies and reminded us that some feelings are not meant to fade.

Vũ shares that his songs are vessels of heartbreak, longing and nostalgia. For the lost loves, the last loves and lingering regrets, the night was theirs. Vũ asked his fans to hold their loved ones close and let that warmth embrace them as they surrendered to the soul-stirring power of Vũ’s melodies. And if you didn’t attend with a partner, that’s okay. This one’s also for you.

Vũ performed fan favourites including ‘bình yên (Peace)’, ‘Phút Ban Đầu (The First Minute)’, ‘đợi (Waiting)’, ‘Những Chuyến Bay (Airplanes)’ and ‘Những Lời Hứa Bỏ Quên (Forgotten Promises)’, delivering each with the emotion and authenticity that has made them so loved, with many Melbourne fans joining in at choruses and belting back the lyrics with just as much intensity.

Madihu joined Vũ for crowd favourite ‘Vì Anh Đâu Có Biết (Because I Didn’t Know)’, lifting the venue with its upbeat melody and lighter spirit. The duo then performed Madihu’s track ‘Có Em (Have You)’ where Vũ replaced artist Low G in the number, creating another unforgettable moment for the audience.

Deepening the connection with his fans, Vũ performed two fan-requested songs which included, ‘Dành Hết Xuân Thì Để Chờ Nhau (Spent Our Youth Waiting for Each Other)’. Admitting he didn’t fully remember the lyrics, a fan stepped in to help and even lent their phone to Vũ so that he could perform the fan song request. The moment ended with a unique group selfie, captured by Vũ and the audience in the direction of the grateful phone owner.

Just as a museum must close its exhibits, Vũ’s 2025 Museum of Regrets Melbourne concert came to an end. Bringing fans full circle, Vũ performed his first-ever release, ‘Lạ Lùng (Unfamiliar)’, the song resonating deeply with Melbourne patrons and sparking a powerful chorus of voices that effortlessly filled the venue with raw and unified emotion between Vũ and his Melbourne audience.

With a stage that was simple yet striking, alternating between the tour title in Vietnamese, Bảo tàng của nuối tiếc, and an image of a hand reaching out, as if longing for what remains just a little out of reach, enriching and elevating the evening to a different level of emotion, was the weaving instrumentals from the Màu Nước Band, highlighting every note that Vũ sang, assisting in drawing the Melbourne audience deeper into his mesmerising world.

What sets Vũ apart from a typical performer is his remarkable vocal endurance. Performing nearly three hours straight at his first international sold-out solo show, he demonstrated not just stamina, but the power to fully captivate every listener from start to finish. Full of gratitude and grace, bowing deeply at 90-degrees after nearly every song, Vũ showcased his wholehearted appreciation for his Melbourne fans and their unwavering support. Originally attending as a non-listener, I admittedly found myself drawn in, despite the occasional language barriers and lyrics being lost in translation, Vũ’s ability to captivate his audience had me leaving as a fan by the end of the night.

Dubbed as the King of Indie in Vietnam, Vũ is more than a performer. He’s a magnificent storyteller for the broken hearts, masterfully reaching into the deepest sorrows within our souls. His artistry extends beyond his lyrics and carries through every gesture and note on the stage.

With deep and resonant vocals, Vũ swiftly delivered an emotional weight that surpasses his studio recordings. Each song became a moment of connection, displaying proof that Vũ is a master of his craft, commanding his audience with both power and a raw sincerity. The Melbourne concert was more than just a night for the broken-hearted. It was an immersive experience of emotions, nostalgia and connection for all.

Proudly, presented by Warner Music Australia, Warner Music Vietnam, Tang Events, Maison.VN and EMI Events, Vũ brought his 2025 Museum of Regrets Tour for the first time to Melbourne, performing at Forum Melbourne on November 5th. He will be concluding his Australian tour at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on November 8th.
